  Disinfection cabinets have been applied in public places such as hotels, restaurants, industrial canteens, Chinese and Western restaurants, and canteens of enterprises and institutions, and have gradually entered modern homes. Disinfection cabinets have gradually become an essential disinfection tool in daily life. While people value its practicality, its safety, reliability, and stability are also issues of concern.

  The disinfection methods for cupboards are mostly thermal infrared or ultraviolet. By driving infrared or ultraviolet emission tubes with high frequency and high voltage, this high-frequency and high voltage driving circuit is prone to burning out the driving transistor due to high current and temperature. This puts forward high requirements for the design of engineers. To ensure the reliability and safety of the circuit, it is necessary to design overcurrent and overheating protection circuits. Especially when there is no installed infrared emission tube or ultraviolet emission tube, infrared emission tube or ultraviolet emission tube is in an abnormal state such as aging, air leakage, or fracture, the circuit cannot start normally, resulting in burning or scrapping of the circuit board. It can even cause accidents such as smoking and bursting, and in severe cases, it can lead to electrical appliances catching fire. The control circuit board is similar to an electronic ballast in terms of overvoltage protection, overcurrent protection, and over temperature protection.

  There are many ways to solve the above protection problems, but we suggest using PPTC (Positive Temperature Coefficient Thermistor, also known as Self Recovery Fuse or Ten Thousand Times Fuse) for overload protection of the control circuit board of the disinfection cabinet. Since using PPTC only requires a single component to be connected in series to the starting capacitor of the infrared or ultraviolet emission tube, it avoids the problem of matching and debugging multiple components, has fewer components, lower cost, and higher reliability, The PPTC device can complete both overcurrent protection and overtemperature protection at the same time, and will maintain this protection state until the power is turned off before returning to the initial state.

  Under the dual effects of high current and high temperature rise, PPTC devices can quickly transition from a low resistance state to a high resistance state in short circuit, overcurrent, over temperature and other fault states, and timely limit the current of infrared or ultraviolet tubes to achieve protection purposes. And maintain this protection state all the time, only after power outage will the PPTC device recover from high resistance state to low resistance state. Continuous electrification of PPTC will not recover, which can effectively avoid various potential problems and safety hazards that may arise from electrification recovery and control circuit boards.
